Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of young heartache achieved widespread popularity in the first decade of the 21st century. Swift developed an interest for music in her early years and soon progressed from performing in children's shows before making her first appearance front of an audience. Swift was 11 years old when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match. Following that she started writing her own songs, and also picked up the guitar. Swift got inspiration from musicians from the country genre, such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and now the Chicks to come up with original songs that expressed the apathy she experienced at the age of 13. Swift left Pennsylvania along with her parents and moved to Tennessee, Hendersonville. she was 13 years old to dedicate more time to reaching out to label representatives from the country genre.
